July 7 - One British soldier was killed in the southern Iraqi city of Basra overnight, a military spokesman said on Saturday. Another British soldier died in a non-combat incident inside a miliary base in Basra.

Six American troops were killed in Iraq in the past two days, mostly in Baghdad, the military said.
