July 8 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1915 GMT on Sunday:

TUZ KHURMATO - The death toll from Saturday's truck bomb attack in a market in the northern town of Tuz Khurmato rose to 150, with 250 wounded, local officials said.

* BAGHDAD - One U.S. soldier was killed and three wounded on Sunday by a suicide car bomb near their patrol west of the Iraqi capital, the military said.

HASWA - A suicide truck bomber killed 23 new Iraqi army recruits and wounded 27 others near Haswa, 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad, police and army sources said.

BASRA - A British soldier died on Saturday from wounds received during a fierce clash in the southern Iraqi city of Basra the day before, a military spokesman said on Sunday.

BASRA - A suspected al Qaeda militant was detained in Basra with canisters of chloride, Basra security officials said.

HILLA - A suicide car bomber and three accomplices were killed when their bomb detonated prematurely in this southern Shi'ite city, police said. The car's driver was believed to be foreign.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of an Iraqi couple employed by the U.S. embassy in Baghdad who were kidnapped in May were found, a U.S. official said on Sunday.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed three civilians and wounded five others in a busy market in the Shurja, an important commercial district in central Baghdad, police said.

SAMAWA - A mortar killed one woman and two children in the southern Iraqi city of Samawa, 270 km (168 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

KIRKUK - Police found two bodies in oil-rich Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. They had been tortured and shot.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained ten suspected militants during raids in western Baghdad, the military said.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi soldiers killed nine militants and have detained 38 others in operations around the country in the last 24 hours, the Iraqi defence ministry said in a statement.

BAGHDAD - Six people were killed and seven wounded by a car bomb in Karrada, a busy Shi'ite area in central Baghdad.

BAGHDAD - Two people were killed by a car bomb in Jadriya, a southern district of Baghdad near the al-Hamra hotel, which is popular with westerners working in the city, police said.

TIKRIT - One U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb near his vehicle in Salahuddin province in northern Iraq on Saturday, the military said.

TAJI - Iraqi soldiers detained five militants in operations near Kirkuk on Thursday, the U.S. military said.

TIKRIT - Iraqi soldiers and police discovered a bomb-making factory and about 10,000 pounds of ammonia nitrate near the northern city of Mosul on Saturday, the U.S. military said.
