Quake rocks southern Greece, no casualties reported

ATHENS, June 8 (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck southern Greece on Sunday, causing panic among villages and some damage but there were no immediate reports of injuries, Greek authorities said. The quake which was felt as far away as Athens struck near the major city of Patras and was at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), the Athens Geodynamic Institute said. Police said they had received no reports of casualties but some old abandoned buildings had collapsed. (Reporting by Renee Maltezou)
