BAGHDAD, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Two women were shot dead in central Baghdad on Tuesday in what Iraqi police said was an incident involving private security guards escorting a convoy of four vehicles through the capital. Two police sources said the shooting took place in the district of Karrada. There was no immediate indication who was responsible for the shooting or what triggered it. The shooting came the same day as the Iraqi government demanded U.S. security firm Blackwater pay the families of 17 people killed in a shooting in Baghdad last month $8 million each in compensation.
