Car bomb kills 8, wounds 16 in Iraq's Kerbala

KERBALA, Iraq, Dec 9 (Reuters) - A car bomb ripped through a busy market in Iraq's holy Shi'ite city of Kerbala on Saturday, killing eight people and wounding 16, police said.

The blast hit the al Abassi market, which is near the holy shrine of Kerbala, 110 km (68 miles) south of Baghdad.
