BAGHDAD, Feb 10 (Reuters) - A car bomb killed 33 people and wounded another 35 in a market in the Iraqi town of Balad on Sunday, an Iraqi security forces spokesman said.

The blast hit an Iraqi army checkpoint near the market in Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad. Wounded were being rushed to hospital, security officials said.
