Aug 10 (Reuters) - A British soldier was killed on Friday on patrol in the area of Jusyalay, north-east of Sangin in Helmand Province, southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said.

The death brings the number of foreign troops killed in action in Afghanistan this year to 95.

More than 6,500 people have died violently in the country in the past 18 months, the bloodiest period since the Taliban's removal from power in 2001.

Here are the figures for foreign military deaths in Afghanistan since the Taliban government was toppled in 2001:
