MOSCOW, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Gunmen fired on the Russian embassy in Baghdad late on Wednesday, Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, but no casualties or injuries were reported. "In the evening of Jan. 10 the Russian embassy in Iraq was twice attacked by gunfire," the ministry said in a statement. "According to information, there were no dead or injured. The building of the diplomatic mission was damaged." Russia called in Iraq's ambassador to Moscow and a high-ranking American official to complain about the attack. "Russia firmly demands from Iraqi authorities that they urgently undertake all necessary steps to strengthen the system of physical protection of our diplomatic mission," the statement said. The ministry said it held the United States jointly responsible for the security of diplomatic missions in Iraq. Last June kidnappers killed four Russian diplomats working in Baghdad.
