GENEVA, Dec 1 (Reuters) - The top trade officials from Brazil and European Union said on Monday they were "moderately optimistic" and "cautiously optimistic" about the prospects of breakthrough in the Doha world trade round. At a news conference with EU Trade Commissioner Catherine Ashton, Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim said that while holding a World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial meeting soon may be risky, not holding one would amount to "a failure."
