ISIOLO, Kenya, April 15 (Reuters) - At least 15 people were killed and scores injured when a bus crashed in northern Kenya, a health official said on Sunday.

Provincial medical officer Ahmed Omar said 61 people injured in the accident, which occurred late on Saturday, were admitted to hospitals in the area around Modagashe.

"Two are in critical condition, the rest are stable," Omar told Reuters.

Kenya, like many African countries, relies heavily on buses for public transport -- which subjects passengers to pot-holed and sometimes un-tarmacked roads, poorly trained drivers and often fatal accidents.
