TBILISI, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakahsvili sacked his prime minister on Friday and appointed 36-year-old bank chief Lado Gurgenidze as a replacement.

"I would like to inform you of our joint decision to submit Lado Gurgenidze for the post of prime minister," Saakashvili told journalists after a government meeting.

Gurgenidze is chairman of the private Bank of Georgia <BGEOq.L>, the only Georgian company listed on the London stock exchange. (reporting by Margarita Antidze, writing by James Kilner)
