GAZA, Jan 16 (Reuters) - An Israeli air strike killed two Palestinians in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the ruling Islamist Hamas faction said.

It said an Israeli missile destroyed a car, killing its two occupants. Their identities were not immediately given.

An Israeli military spokeswoman had no immediate comment on the strike, which came during a surge of fighting in Gaza.
