Bird flu kills poultry in Russia-Ria cites expert

MOSCOW, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Bird flu was the reason for the death of poultry in the Moscow region, Russia's chief sanitary expert and head of a consumer watchdog was quoted by Ria news agency as saying on Friday.

"Vets have detected it (the virus), they confirm it is the H5N1 strain," Gennady Onishchenko said.
