Jan 17 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 1300 GMT on Wednesday:

* KIRKUK - A suicide truck bomber blew himself up near a police headquarters in Kirkuk, northern Iraq, killing 10 people and wounding 42 others, police said.

* BASRA - A roadside bomb wounded two coalition force soldiers in southern Basra, 550 km (340 miles) southeast of Baghdad, a British Military spokeswomen said. The spokeswoman declined to confirm the nationality of the wounded but most of the foreign forces in Basra are British.

A cameraman of al-Aalam satellite channel was also detained by the British forces for "acting suspiciously" as he was taking footage at the scene, Major David Gell, a British spokesman, said.

* BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb exploded near a minibus and wounded six people in the southern Doura district of Baghdad, police said.

* BAGHDAD - Iraqi and U.S. forces arrested three suspected insurgents and seized a number of weapons on Tuesday during a raid in the Doura district of Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement.

* BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 28 suspects in raids around Iraq on Wednesday, the U.S. military said. One of those detained was identified as a senior bomb attack coordinator and weapons dealer for al Qaeda in Mosul, a statement said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a police patrol killed a policeman and wounded three others in the busy area of Bab al-Sharji in central Baghdad, police said.

ISKANDARIYA - Police found the body of a policeman strangled on Tuesday in the town of Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MAHAWEEL - Gunmen killed two brothers on Tuesday in a drive-by shooting in the town of Mahaweel, 75 km (50 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

ISKANDARIYA - Several mortar rounds landed on a residential district on Tuesday killing a woman along with her son, and wounding 10 others in Iskandariya, police said.
