NAIROBI, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Environment ministers at U.N. climate talks agreed on Friday to a review in 2008 of the U.N.'s Kyoto Protocol that could pave the way to expand the scheme for fighting global warming beyond 2012. Kenyan Environment Minister Kivutha Kibwana banged down his gavel on the final day of a Nov. 6-17 meeting of 165 nations after hearing no objections to a compromise plan between rich and poor nations. Thirty-five industrial states bound by Kyoto's caps on greenhouse gases hope that a review of Kyoto might help widen the pact to outsiders after Kyoto's first period runs out in 2012.
