BERLIN, May 18 (Reuters) - Sweden has extradited a Moroccan man suspected of aiding al Qaeda in Iraq and helping set up a terrorist organisation in Sudan, Germany's Federal Prosecutor's Office said on Friday.

The 24-year-old Moroccan, identified only as Abdelali M., arrived in Germany on May 15 and is now in investigative custody at a jail in Karlsruhe, Germany, the Office said in a statement.

Abdelali M. is suspected of aiding a 37-year-old Moroccan man identified as Redouane E. H., who was formally charged this week with supporting both the global al Qaeda network and al Qaeda in Iraq, the prosecutors said.

German authorities believe Abdelali M. helped Redouane E.H. recruit Islamist militants to fight in Iraq.

Abdelali M. is also suspected of helping Redouane E.H. form a terrorist organisation in Sudan by providing money.

"The goal of this organisation was to open up a front against the 'crusaders' in Sudan and wage holy war according to a call from Osama bin Laden," the statement said.

Swedish authorities arrested Abdelali M. in March on the basis of a European arrest warrant issued by German authorities in connection with their investigation into a ring of suspected terrorists operating in Germany.

Last month Sweden extradited another Moroccan man, Thaer A., to Germany in connection with the same case, the statement said.
