GAZA - Hamas militants fire a rocket-propelled grenade at an Israeli military bulldozer in the northern Gaza Strip. One soldier is lightly wounded from shrapnel in the attack, the first by militants on Israeli forces since Israel launched a new campaign against Hamas targets in the coastal territory.

GAZA - Israeli air strike kills at least two Palestinians. Israel's army says it targeted three militants who fired rockets into the Jewish state from northern Gaza. Local residents said two civilians, both shepherds, were killed and another four people were wounded.

GAZA - Hamas and Fatah negotiators agree in Egyptian-brokered talks to a new ceasefire starting at 1200 GMT on Saturday, though it is unclear whether the deal will hold.

GAZA - Minutes after ceasefire talks conclude, the convoy of one of the Fatah negotiators comes under fire from unidentified Palestinian gunmen. Mohammad al-Masri, a top intelligence official loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas, is not hurt in the shooting attack. Hamas says Fatah gunmen are to blame.

JERUSALEM - Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz says Israel has many options to try to prevent Gaza militants from firing rockets into Israel, playing down the immediate prospect of a massive ground invasion. But Peretz added: "I think the idea of taking over Gaza again is a decision that can be made at any time."

SDEROT, Israel - A barrage of makeshift rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel causes damage but no injuries.

GAZA - Israeli army says it destroyed two Hamas weapons depots in Gaza City. Palestinians said they were metal workshops not connected to Hamas.

RAMALLAH, West Bank - Deputy Palestinian Prime Minister Azzam al-Ahmad, a Fatah leader, renews his call for Hamas's Executive Force to be disbanded, accusing it of fuelling the internal violence. Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said al-Ahmed's comments "reflected an Israeli desire to finish off the Executive Force and Hamas men."
