MOSCOW, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Russian gas monopoly Gazprom <GAZP.MM> may agree terms to join the $22 billion Sakhalin-2 project with Royal Dutch Shell <RDSa.L> this week, Gazprom's deputy chief executive Alexander Medvedev said on Tuesday.

"I hope it will be this week... there are no differences remaining, work is under way on the final documents," Medvedev told reporters. He said the deal would be on market terms but did not give details.
