Dec 20 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1400 GMT on Thursday.

* denotes new or updated items.

* KANAAN - A suicide bomber wearing a belt packed with explosives struck a recruiting station for neighbourhood patrols in the town of Kanaan in restive Diyala province. Police said 13 volunteers were killed and 10 wounded. The U.S. military said a U.S. soldier was killed and 10 U.S. soldiers were wounded.

* BAQUBA - A roadside bomb killed one Iraqi soldier and wounded another when it targeted a joint patrol of police and Iraqi army in southern Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

* BAGHDAD - A parked car bomb killed three people and wounded 20 others in an attack on liquor stores on Saadoun Street in central Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces captured a "special groups" leader and detained two other gunmen during operations on Sunday, across Baghdad, the U.S. military said. U.S. forces use the term to refer to Shi'ite militia using weapons they say come from Iran.

ISKANDARIYA - U.S. forces and Iraqi police arrested 23 gunmen over the last 48 hours in the town of Iskandariya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
