Bodies of Bosnia peacekeepers flown home to Spain

SARAJEVO, June 20 (Reuters) - The bodies of two Spanish pilots killed when their helicopter crashed in central Bosnia were flown home on Friday, a spokesman for the European Union peacekeeping force (EUFOR) said. The BO-105 helicopter went down near the town of Kotor Varos in a mountainous, forested area on Thursday, killing the Spanish peacekeepers and two German officers. The cause of the crash is being investigated. "We had a small ceremony for the repatriation of Lieutenant Santiago Hormigo Ledesma and Sergeant Joaquin Lopez Moreno," spokesman Kerry Corkett said. The EU's 2,000-strong multinational force took over in 2005 from NATO, which had deployed at the end of the 1992-95 Bosnian war. Spain is the biggest contributor to EUFOR.
