RIYADH, Nov 20 (Reuters) - A British man survived a knife attack on Monday in Saudi Arabia, state media said, but it was not clear if the incident was linked to militant attacks against foreigners. "A British national suffered an attack with a knife by an individual while shopping inside a fuel station in the Jubail area," the official SPA agency said. Jubail is on the Gulf coast in the Eastern Province. "Citizens who were there came to his aid and he was taken to hospital where it became clear he had been wounded in the neck but his condition is stable," it added. A Western diplomat confirmed that a Briton had suffered a knife attack on Monday evening but had no more details. SPA said the attacker, caught shortly after the attack, was being questioned. Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, has seen a wave of attacks by Islamist militants opposed to the U.S.-allied government since 2003. Westerners working in the kingdom have often been the target.
