Sept 20 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1745 GMT on Thursday.

* BAGHDAD - Police found seven bodies in various areas of Baghdad on Thursday, five of which were found in the religiously mixed west of the capital, police said.

* MADAEN - A mortar barrage killed two civilians and wounded 10, including three policemen, when they landed on a residential area of the town of Madaen, 45 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A car bomb targeting an Iraqi army checkpoint killed three people, including two soldiers, and wounded 11 in eastern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - The U.S. military detained Iraqi police Colonel Thamir al-Husayni, who they said was suspected of aiding Shi'ite militias in Baghdad.

MOSUL - Gunmen assassinated a radio presenter, Muhannad Ghanim, who worked for the Iraqi Islamic Party's Dar el-Salam radio in the city of Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police Brigadier Abdul-Kareem al-Jubouri said.

TUZ KHURMATO - Gunmen assassinated Khalid al-Bayati, a local council member of the northern town of Tuz Khurmato as he headed home from work, police said.

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi army killed 14 suspected insurgents and arrested 33 in the past 24 hours in different districts of Baghdad, the Defence Ministry said.

SULAIMANIYA - U.S. soldiers detained an Iranian member of a trade delegation in the northern city of Sulaimaniya, Iraqi officials said. The U.S. military said the man was a member of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards and was involved in transporting roadside bombs into Iraq.

MOSUL - Three bodies, including a woman and her daughter, were found shot in Mosul, police said.

HAWIJA - Gunmen killed a former member of the outlawed Baath party in the town Hawija, 70 km (40 miles) southwest of Baghdad, police said.

NEAR KIRKUK - Two Iraqi soldiers were wounded by a roadside bomb in a town near Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen killed Mustafa Kadhim, a senior judge, and his driver in a drive-by shooting in central Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Eight bodies were found in different areas of Baghdad on Wednesday, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a police commando patrol killed one policeman and wounded three near al-Shaab National Stadium in central Baghdad, police said.

TARMIYA - U.S. and Iraqi forces killed al Qaeda military adviser Abu Yaqub al-Masri during a raid on Aug. 31 near Tarmiya, just north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Al-Masri was behind coordinated car bombings which killed 202 people in Baghdad's Sadr City last November, they said. He was also associated with al Qaeda deputy commander Ayman al-Zawahri and former al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
