British soldier killed, five injured in Afghanistan

LONDON, Jan 21 (Reuters) - A British soldier was killed and five others injured in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, the Ministry of Defence said on Monday.

The MoD said the soldier, attached to the 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, was killed and the others injured when their vehicle was hit by a mine around three km northeast of Musa Qala. (Reporting by Kate Kelland)
