CAIRO, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Ten Egyptians were killed and 10 others injured on Sunday when a minibus collided with a truck on a highway south of Cairo in the latest of a series of Egyptian transport accidents, security sources said.

They said the crash occured on a desert highway that runs parallel to the Nile Valley after the tyre of the minibus blew out at high speed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Reckless driving and the poor condition of roads are responsible for many road crashes in Egypt. Dozens of people have been killed in a recent spate of rail and road crashes.
