NABLUS, West Bank, July 21 (Reuters) - Two rockets landed outside Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank on Monday, causing no injuries, residents said, accusing neighbouring Jewish settlers of launching an attack.

Micky Rosenfeld, an Israeli police spokesman, denied any rockets had been fired. He said Palestinian children had set fire to an abandoned phosphorous shell, and would not give further details.

Residents of the villages of Odala and Awarta, south of the West Bank city of Nablus, said two rockets were fired from the nearby Jewish settlement of Yitzhar. A Reuters Television cameraman saw a projectile, about 45 centimetres (18 inches) long, burning in a field.

A week ago, Israeli police arrested a Yitzhar settler on suspicion of firing a rocket at a village in the area last month. (Writing by Joseph Nasr; Reporting by Atef Sa'ad; Editing by Catherine Evans)
