BUCHAREST, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Romanian Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu will undergo knee surgery in France on Thursday, but will remain in control of the country, the government said. Tariceanu, a passionate biker, badly injured his left knee in a motorcycle accident after his motorbike collided with an oncoming car north of the capital in July. The government said in a statement the surgery, to fix a ruptured meniscus and ligaments, is expected to take several hours and the prime minister would return home on Sunday.
