JOHANNESBURG, Jan 22 (Reuters) - A man has been arrested for trying to hijack a plane flying from Botswana to South Africa, South African state broadcaster SABC said on Monday.

A spokesman for the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) confirmed a man was arrested after an incident on board an Air Botswana flight from Gaborone, adding the plane landed safely at Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International airport.

"The man was immediately isolated and arrested and all the passengers were evacuated," said ACSA spokesman Solomon Makgale. A police spokesman declined immediate comment but said more information would be available shortly.
