Five babies die in fire at Sarajevo orphanage

SARAJEVO, April 22 (Reuters) - Five babies died and 19 babies and a nurse were injured in a fire on Sunday at a Sarajevo orphanage, police and prosecutors said. Two babies were in the intensive care, Sarajevo police said in a statement. FENA news agency quoted duty regional prosecutor Dubravko Campara as saying the nurse, who tried to rescue the babies, suffered burns. Police and fire fighters were alerted at 5:50 a.m. (0350 GMT) and the fire at the orphanage's baby ward was put out half an hour later. The cause of the fire is being investigated, police said.
