HEBRON, West Bank, June 22 (Reuters) - Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian near the West Bank town of Hebron on Friday, Palestinian medical workers said.

Hospital officials identified the man as a 25-year-old civilian.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said the soldiers fired at a Palestinian who tried to break into an army post along a road in the West Bank.
