MOGADISHU, March 23 (Reuters) - A plane that crashed in north Mogadishu on Friday was carrying 11 people, possibly nationals of Russia or Belarus, a spokesman for the African Union (AU) peacekeeping mission in Somalia said.

"There were 11 people on the plane ... It's too early to say if it was hit by a missile or not. We are checking," AU spokesman Captain Paddy Ankunda told Reuters.
