Pakistani troops kill at least 34 militants

ISLAMABAD, July 23 (Reuters) - Pakistan's armed forces killed at least 34 militants in fighting in North Waziristan on Monday, an army spokesman said.

Major-General Waheed Arshad said there was an exchange of fire in Mir Ali after the militants fired rockets at an army checkpoint. Two soldiers were wounded, he added.
