SARAJEVO, June 24 (Reuters) - The bodies of two German officers killed last week in a helicopter crash in central Bosnia were flown home on Tuesday, the European Union peacekeeping force (EUFOR) said.

The BO-105 helicopter went down near the town of Kotor Varos in a mountainous, forested area on June 19, killing the German officers and two Spanish peacekeepers. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

The EU's 2,000-strong multinational force took over in 2005 from NATO, which had deployed at the end of the 1992-95 Bosnian war. German Ambassador Michael Schmunk said 19 German soldiers have been killed in the Bosnia peacekeeping mission. (Reporting by Maja Zuvela; Editing by Elizabeth Piper)
