THE IRISH TIMES

- A Garda investigation was under way last night into the deaths of a young couple and their two daughters whose bodies were found three days after concerns were expressed for their safety.

- Face-to-face talks between health service employers and nursing unions aimed at trying to resolve the dispute over nurses' pay and conditions will begin this afternoon.

- This week's Dail agenda has fuelled speculation that the Taoiseach will call a general election in a matter of days. All of the legislation due for debate this week is far advanced and will have passed its final stages by Thursday evening.
