March 26 (Reuters) - Britain's Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday that a British soldier died in Iraq after a firefight.

Earlier the U.S. military said a U.S. soldier was killed by a mortar attack while on patrol in the Adhamiya district of Baghdad on Tuesday.

Following are the latest figures for soldiers and civilians killed since the U.S.-led invasion in March, 2003:
