ANKARA, Oct 26 (Reuters) - A series of proposals offered by a high-level Iraqi delegation to Turkey to prevent a major military operation against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq is unsatisfactory, a senior Turkish diplomat said on Friday.

Iraqi Defence Minister General Abdel Qader Jassim and National Security Minister Shirwan al Waeli are in Ankara for talks with Turkish officials on how to crack down on the separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which uses northern Iraq as a base from which to stage attacks on Turkey.

"Those proposals do not meet our expectations," a senior Turkish diplomatic source, who declined to be named, told Reuters.

He declined to give further details, apart from saying that the proposals included cutting logistical support to the PKK, limiting the movements of the PKK and closing offices linked to the guerrilla group.

He said Jassim would meet his Turkish counterpart Vecdi Gonul for talks on Saturday before leaving Ankara. No further high-level talks were planned on Friday, the source said.
