COPENHAGEN, March 26 (Reuters) - A Danish soldier was killed in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday and another was wounded, Danish Army Central Command said.

The army said a patrol had come under attack from small arms and mortar fire from Taliban insurgents north.

Denmark has about 550 soldiers in Afghanistan.

Two soldiers were killed this month and nine have died in combat so far, while three others were killed in 2002 while trying to dismantle a mine. (Reporting by Kim McLaughlin)
