Gaza ceasefire begins

GAZA, Nov 26 (Reuters) - A Gaza ceasefire to halt Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel and a five-month-old Israeli military offensive in the territory began on Sunday.

The ceasefire, which went into effect at 6 a.m. (0400 GMT), could set the stage for a long-awaited summit between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on restarting Middle East peace moves.
