AMMAN, Nov 29 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush has delayed talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Jordan until Thursday, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.

The two leaders had been expected to have a meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah and then dinner with the king after arriving in Amman for a crisis summit on Iraq.

"Since the King of Jordan and the prime minister had a bilateral themselves earlier today, everyone believed that it negated the purpose of the three of them to meet tonight together in a trilateral setting," Dan Bartlett, White House counsellor, told reporters.
