JENIN, West Bank, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Israeli authorities on Wednesday released one of the Hamas government ministers that it detained after gunmen from Gaza abducted an Israeli soldier in June, witnesses said.

It was not immediately clear whether the release of Palestinian Public Works and Housing Minister Abdel-Rahman Zidan of Hamas was linked to a possible prisoner exchange deal.

Abbas will call an early presidential and parliamentary election if he fails to form a new government to replace a Hamas-led coalition boycotted by the West, a senior Palestinian official said on Saturday.
