March 29 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1730 GMT on Saturday.

KERBALA - Iraqi security forces in Kerbala killed 21 militants and captured 50 others in clashes in the western outskirts of the province, the commander of Iraqi security forces in Kerbala province, Major-General Raad Jawdat, said.

BAGHDAD - A mortar attack wounded 10 people, including women and children, in Sadr City, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces killed 48 militants in separate engagements in Baghdad on Friday, the U.S. military said.

* BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in eastern Baghdad on Saturday, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed one policeman and wounded three others when it hit their patrol in the Amil district of southwestern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - One U.S. soldier died as a result of wounds sustained in a roadside bomb attack south of Baghdad on Friday, the U.S. military said.

* DIWANIYA - Iraqi security forces arrested 25 militants suspected of participating in Friday's clashes, which killed the mayor of the Ghmash neighbourhood, police said.

* KUT - Clashes between Iraqi security forces and Mehdi Army militants killed three people, including a police officer, and wounded two, police said.

* BASRA - A U.S. warplane dropped two bombs on a group of militants in Qarmat Ali in northern Basra, a British military spokesman said. There was no word on casualties yet.
