Bush, Maliki start talks on Iraq

AMMAN, Nov 30 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush began crunch talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Jordan on Thursday on ways to try to stem sectarian carnage threatening to tear Iraq apart, officials said. Their breakfast meeting came a day after U.S. officials insisted the Iraqi leader was not offended by a critical White House memo and had not snubbed the U.S. president in Amman.
