CHRONOLOGY-The deadliest bomb attacks in Iraq

March 31 (Reuters) - The final death toll from a massive truck bomb attack in the Iraqi town of Tal Afar earlier this week reached 152, officials said on Saturday, making it the single deadliest bombing since the war began in 2003.

Officials had previously said 85 people died in Tuesday's attack in a Shi'ite area of the northwestern Iraqi town.

Here is a list of some of the deadliest bomb attacks in Iraq this year:

Jan. 16, 2007 - A car bomb and suicide bomber strike the Mustansiriya University in central Baghdad killing at least 70 people and wounding 180.

Jan. 22, 2007 - A double car bombing at a second-hand goods market in Bab al-Sharji, a busy commercial area in central Baghdad, kills 88 people and wounds 160.

Feb. 1, 2007 - Two suicide bombers strike a market in the Shi'ite town of Hilla, killing 61 people and wounding 150.

Feb. 3, 2007 - Truck bomb kills 135 people and wounds 305 at a market in the Sadriya quarter of central Baghdad.

Feb. 12, 2007 - Multiple car bombs explode in the Shorja wholesale market, killing at least 71 people and wounding 165. At least nine others are killed at the Bab al-Sharji market, also in central Baghdad.

March 6 - Two suicide bombers strike in Hilla, south of Baghdad, killing 105 pilgrims. Insurgents also launch attacks against Shi'ite pilgrims in a total of 12 attacks. In all 137 pilgrims died and 310 were wounded.

March 27 - A massive truck bomb attack in the Iraqi town of Tal Afar kills 152, and 347 are wounded.
