TBILISI, Sept 5 (Reuters) - A warship from the United States navy's Sixth Fleet will arrive in Georgia's Russian-patrolled port of Poti on the Black Sea on Friday, the U.S. embassy in Tbilisi said. "The third U.S. ship transporting humanitarian aid to Georgia is scheduled to arrive in Poti today at 1700 (1300 GMT)," the embassy said in a statement. Poti is patrolled by Russian troops who Moscow says are carrying out peacekeeping duties, but Georgia and its Western allies say their presence is part of an illegal occupation. The vessel is the USS Mount Whitney, a sophisticated command warship. U.S. warships have previously delivered supplies to the Georgian port of Batumi, which is to the south of Russian-patrolled areas.
