SYDNEY, Feb 8 (Reuters) - At least 25 people have been confirmed dead in raging bushfires that have swept Australia's densely-populated southeast this weekend, police said on Sunday.

"The latest toll we have got is 25," a spokeswoman for Victoria state police told Reuters, saying the deaths were spread across various parts of the state.
