Georgia warplanes strike S.Ossetia-Interfax

MOSCOW, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Georgian warplanes attacked separatist positions in the breakaway region of South Ossetia on Friday, Interfax news agency quoted the head of Russian peacekeepers in the region as saying.

It quoted Marat Kulakhmetov as saying five Soviet-designed Su-25 planes took part in the strike on the village of Tkverneti. (Writing by Oleg Shchedrov; Editing by Richard Balmforth)
