BAGHDAD, July 28 (Reuters) - Two bomb attacks in quick succession killed at least eight people and wounded 23 in Baghdad on Monday, Iraqi police said. The attacks occurred at a time when Shi'ites have flooded into Baghdad for a pilgrimage that peaks on Tuesday. At least a million people are expected to visit the Kadhamiya shrine in northwestern Baghdad for the event. Iraqi security forces have clamped tight security in the area. Both explosions were close to Baghdad's Karrada district in central Baghdad, an area many pilgrims would pass through on their way to the shrine. Sunni Islamist al Qaeda has often targeted Shi'ite pilgrims taking part in religious events in Iraq. (Writing by Mohammed Abbas: Editing by Dean Yates)
