At least one dead as Turkish ferry sinks

(Changes source, adds details) ISTANBUL, Sept 14 (Reuters) - At least one person died and 13 were injured when a when a roll-on roll-off ferry carrying around 100 passengers sank in the Turkish Sea of Marmara, the state-run news agency Anatolian reported on Monday. The ship, carrying 73 trucks and two cars, sank shortly after leaving the city of Bandirma for Istanbul. A transport official said about 70 people had been picked up in a search and rescue operation. "Right now we have one dead and 13 injured," said local government official Salih Keser. Other agencies were reporting 24 people had been injured. The broadcaster CNN Turk said ambulances were lined up along the coast to deal with the injured. (Editing by Kevin Liffey)
