STOCKHOLM, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Sweden, holder of the rotating presidency of the European Union, said on Friday that senior EU officials would travel to Washington to meet President Barack Obama and discuss global issues at an EU-USA summit on Nov. 3.

The agenda for the meeting includes climate change and the road to Copenhagen, the global economic and financial crisis and follow-up of the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh, as well as Afghanistan and Iran, it said in a statement.

More than 190 nations are trying to agree a new pact to fight climate change at a conference in Copenhagen on December 7-18. Talks are deadlocked over how to share the burden of curbs on greenhouse gases between rich and poor nations.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will attend the meeting in Washington, along with the bloc's top foreign policy representative, Javier Solana.

Sweden's prime minister, representing the EU Presidency, will chair the summit. A spokeswoman for the EU presidency was not immediately available to offer more details.
