Niger Tuareg rebel says lays down arms, will talk

NIAMEY, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Niger's Tuareg rebel leader Aghaly ag Alambo said his fighters would lay down their arms from Monday and together with Mali's Tuareg rebellion agreed to mediation by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. "We decide to lay down our weapons from Monday," Alambo said at a weekend meeting with Gaddafi in southern Libya, where he said he also spoke on behalf of the Tuareg rebellion in neighbouring Mali.
