Russia's Medvedev sacks leader of restive region

MOSCOW, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev sacked the leader of the restive southern Russian region of Ingushetia on Thursday, RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Violence has been increasing between security forces and rebels in Ingushetia this year. Some political analysts have said the region, which borders Chechnya, is on the brink of civil war. (Reporting by Ludmila Danilova)
